***The RBHS Girls Gymnastics Program is comprised of a Varsity (level 5 & optional) & a JV team (level 3), both of which compete in four events. The events used in high school gymnastics are vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. Athletes can compete in the All-Around (all 4 events), or be an event specialist. It is the goal of the RBHS Gymnastics Program to give all athletes a positive experience that will help them grow as both a student athlete and as an individual. Gymnasts will develop a work ethic that shows a commitment to their sport, as well as to their team. ***

When does our season start?

Our mandatory tryouts this year will be Thursday, Friday, Saturday of the Presidents Week Break. Gymnastics requires a long commitment from its athletes as our season begins at the end of February and will go into May.  Spring Break practice is also mandatory.

When are practices?

Athletes are expected to practice Mon-Fri, from 3:45-6:15 unless otherwise notified.
Practice times change and vary during Holiday breaks.

How much of a time commitment is Gymnastics?

Obviously school is the most important thing! First and foremost your schoolwork and grades are the top priority. But, you need to be fully committed to gymnastics if you are going to be on the RBHS Gymnastics Team. Gymnastics requires a lot of dedication and hard work.
We practice hard, 5 days a week. Our season lasts about 3 months and we enjoy showing off all of our hard work at competitions.

We also love having parents who are willing to volunteer to help out our team throughout the season with meets and other extras. Parent volunteers are a big part of commitment to the team.  Our parent volunteers are what help makes it possible for us to have a team!

Who can try out for the RB gymnastics team?

Anyone who has some gymnastics experience, a good work ethic and a good attitude!  It is important for girls wanting to be on the team to build and maintain strength and flexibility. If you are just beginning you
will need to be dedicated and committed to learning the basics before you can compete at the JV or Varsity level. JV competes USAGC level 3, Varsity Compulsary competes USAGC level 5, and Varsity Optional competes at USAGC level 7 and up.  It is recommended to come prepared with knowledge of the full routines to tryouts.  A Ticket to Play must be presented in order to tryout.  You can look up the TTP on the athletic website and pick up your TTP in the athletic department office...No TTP, no tryouts!

When are meets?

Meets are most often on Wed. and Fri. evenings throughout our season. All weekday meets start at 3:45. The girls will take buses to away meets and will usually be dismissed from class between 1:00 to 1:45. For home meets, the girls will be let out a little earlier to help set up the equipment in the main gym. We also have a few Saturday Invitationals as well.

How much does gymnastics cost?

We ask for a transportation donation of $20 every season in order to bus the girls to away meets. Gymnasts are asked to purchase a uniform (to use for all 4 years). The cost is approximately $220-$280. Throughout the season, we might purchase spirit wear as a team. This is not required but is a fun way to promote the team and our love for the sport.

Fundraising!!!

As with any program, funds are needed to provide coaching, equipment and supplies. We appreciate all financial contributions. Many companies match donations (info available on the Foundation website).  We will also have opportunities for the gymnasts to participate in fundraising. Fundraising is vital in order for gymnastics to continue being a sport at RBHS!
