2026–2027 Student Parking Information
🚘 Beginning Monday, September 7, 2026, student parking permits will be strictly enforced. Students may not park in the student lot without a valid 2026-2027 parking permit displayed on their vehicle.

Permit Pickup Information
Parking permits will be available for pickup beginning August 17. Once you have completed the parking permit registration form, please allow 2 - 4 school days for your parking permit to be processed.
Ms. Platt will send an email when your parking permit is ready for pickup. Parking permits may be picked up in the front office before school, during lunch or after school.
Start Smart Classes
- You must attend a Start Smart before you can register for a parking permit.
- Once you have attended one class you do not need to attend any future classes.
- Registration is required to attend a class. You can register for a Start Smart class below.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) generously hosts these classes on our campus. Please note that class availability is subject to CHP scheduling, and a class may be canceled at any time. If a class is canceled, no Start Smart credit will be issued, and participants will need to attend a future session.
Parking Rules and Regulations
Parking on the Rancho Bernardo's campus is a privilege and will be revoked if the student fails to comply with the following policies and procedures:
- Students may NOT park on campus prior to receiving a valid permit.
- Unreserved spaces are available on a first come, first served basis. Possession of a permit does not guarantee a parking space.
- The staff lot is off-limits to students from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Parking stickers must be clearly adhered to the lower left corner of the inside front windshield. Taping is not allowed.
- Permits may not be transferred to another student or vehicle.
- The parking lot speed limit is 5 mph — drive slowly and carefully.
- If more than one family member will drive the same car, each student must submit an application, but will share one sticker.

- Only 3 alternate vehicle sign-ins are allowed per quarter.
- If you need more than 3 alternate vehicle sign-ins or plan to drive multiple cars, complete an application for each vehicle and see Ms. Platt with $5 (cash only) per additional sticker.
- Only students with a permit may sign in an alternate vehicle.
- RBHS is not responsible for damage or theft that may occur on campus.
- Only students with a Senior Parking Sticker may park in the senior lot. If unsure where this area is, ask Ms. Platt.
- Students may not loiter in the student lot before, during, after school or at lunch.
- Vehicles may not be used as lockers. Students may not access vehicles during the school day.
- All vehicles are subject to search by administration and law enforcement.
- Any vehicle parked on campus without a current parking sticker or in violation of parking rules is subject to a City of San Diego parking ticket.
- There is no school-site appeal process for citations. Please follow instructions on the citation for the city’s process.
